Dr. Patri earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Toronto, Canada in neuroscience and biochemistry. She earned her medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City and completed a residency in internal medicine at the Weill Cornell Medical College at New York Presbyterian Hospital, followed by a fellowship in nephrology at the same institution. She currently practices nephrology in New York City.

Dr. Patri has conducted extensive research in the field of kidney transplantation, and she has made presentations on the topic to the American Society of Nephrology and the American Transplant Congress.
