Dr. Amrita Kapoor Chaturvedi is a senior ophthalmologist who has received her undergraduate and post graduate training (MBBS, MD) from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. She is Fellow of The Royal college of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCSEd)

After completing her undergraduate education at AIIMS, she trained in ophthalmology at Dr.Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, AIIMS and thereafter worked there as a Senior Resident in the Glaucoma, Squint and Neuro-ophthalmology unit for three years. As a senior resident, she was involved in independent running of speciality clinics, and the surgical, medical and teaching activities of these subspecialities. She was Senior Research Associate at Dr Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, AIIMS for the next 3 years in the Oculoplasty, Pediatric Ophthalmology and Ocular Oncology Unit. During this period, along with continuing her clinical and surgical activities, she was responsible for providing diagnostic, staging and management inputs for children with retinoblastoma at the Retinoblastoma Clinic at the Institute Cancer Centre (IRCH)

Dr Amrita left AIIMS in 2007 to join Visitech Eye Centre, New Delhi as Senior Consultant and continued there till July 2022. She gained immense experience in handling both primary and referred cases of glaucoma, squint, children’s eye diseases and neuro-ophthalmology. She has operated hundreds of refractory cases of glaucoma using valves and other drainage devices. In addition, she is proficient in phacoemulsification and extracapsular cataract extraction techniques for cataract removal and intraocular lens implantation.

Dr. Amrita joined Amrita Hospital Faridabad as Senior Consultant and Assistant Professor in August 2022.

Dr Amrita is a Senior ophthalmologist who has trained and worked in this field for 27 years.She has extensive experience in the management of all types of glaucoma cases including paediatric and neovascular, using the latest surgical and non-surgical modalities. (medical, lasers etc.) She has successfully treated many intractable glaucomas using valve implantation techniques.She expertly manages the adult and pediatric cases of squint –both functional and cosmetic with excellent outcomes.She has a special interest in the treatment of amblyopia in children.She has been a part of Retinoblastoma clinic at Dr.R.P.Centre,AIIMS .She is proficient in cataract surgery using phacoemulsification and other techniques,
