Dr. D. Nageshwar Reddy is the Chairman of the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG) and AIG Hospitals, Hyderabad, India. He is a distinguished gastroenterologist and a past president of the World Endoscopy Organization.
Dr. Reddy earned his MBBS from Kurnool Medical College, completed his MD in Internal Medicine from Madras Medical College, and obtained his DM in Gastroenterology from PGIMER, Chandigarh. He began his career as a Professor of Gastroenterology at Andhra Pradesh Health Sciences before founding the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, a renowned tertiary care hospital specializing in gastrointestinal diseases.
Dr. Reddy’s primary research interests include therapeutic pancreatobiliary endoscopy and innovations in transgastric endoscopic surgery. He has authored over 670 research papers in national and international peer-reviewed journals, contributed to 20 chapters in international textbooks, and edited eight textbooks on GI endoscopy. He serves on the editorial boards of prestigious journals, including Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Digestive Endoscopy, and the World Journal of Gastroenterology.
He has been a peer reviewer for journals like The Lancet, Endoscopy, and Journal of Gastroenterology & Hepatology. He has also participated in over 200 international endoscopy workshops and is a founding member of the Asian Endoscopy Masters Forum.
